INTRODUCTION TO ROCK CLIMBING
These weekend courses are perfect for anyone wanting to have a go at climbing and abseiling on rock, or looking to make the transition from indoor climbing to the outdoors under the close supervision of a qualified mountaineering and climbing instructor.
- Our introduction to rock climbing course is the best place to start your journey into the world of rock climbing. With no prior experience needed, on this course you will get to try different climbing and abseiling.
- This climbing course will give you the opportunity to experience the important basic skills involved with rock climbing such as belaying, movement on rock, tying into the rope, safe descent and abseiling.
- Run by a highly experienced, qualified, insured and first aid trained Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor.
- Climbing harnesses, helmets and all safety equipment provided.
- Small group ratios to ensure the days are inclusive and you can be provided with a warm and welcoming atmosphere to enhance your first steps on the rock.
- Plenty of time on the rock with progression throughout the day while making the routes suitable to your experience.
- Sessions run in North Wales' iconic Snowdonia National Park, with a variety of crags to choose from.

Dean Russell is an active trail runner , climber and mountaineer with over 20 years experience. He is a qualified Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor and has the British Athletics Fell Leadership in Running Fitness (FLiRF) award. Dean has climbed all over the world, enjoying long adventurous routes in the mountains such as North face of Piz Badile (TD)but is equally comfortable on sea cliffs, boulders, sports crags and quarries with ascents such as Bloody Sunday, Pembroke (E4, 6A) Honk Down and El Chorro (7c).
